今日紹介するのは八王子駅から徒歩5分のインドネシア料理のお店「クタバリカフェ」。 本校の学生がよく通っています。 本格的なインドネシア料理を楽しむことができます。 ハラルフードなのでクラスメートと食事をするときも、何も気を使わなくてとてもいいと学生たちは話しています。 こちらの料理は辛さも調節できるので、辛いものが苦手な人でも食べることができます。 私は麺がとてもおいしいと思いました😊

八王子駅から徒歩5分のところに新しく酒造がオープンしました！ まだ製品化はしていないそうですが、これからお店ができたりと、どんどん発展していくそうです。 駅から近くで、にぎやかな街中にある酒造はとてもめずらしいですよね。 留学生にとっても日本の伝統的な「酒」を身近な場所で知ることができるいい機会になります。

学校から歩いて15分のところに、徳川家康の家臣「大久保長安」ゆかりの神社があります。 大久保長安は八王子の街づくりをしたことが有名で、ブラタモリでも取り上げられたそうです。 ここでは頻繁に大久保長安に関するイベントが行われています。 6月17日にも行われるそうなので、お近くの人はぜひ行ってみてくださいね。 八王子には歴史的な建物などが多くあるため、授業でも歴史の勉強をしてから見学することがあります。 私たちの学校は日本語だけではなく、地域について、日本の歴史についても教えています。

八王子駅から徒歩15分の「夢美術館」で開催されている「ミュシャ展」に行きました。 夢美術館は年間数回訪れていますが、ミュシャ展は他の展覧会と比べると男性客が多かったです。 やはり美人画をみたい男性が多いのでしょうか。 以前に他の美術館でもミュシャ展を見ましたが、規模は狭いものの、有名な作品も多く、絵画だけではなく、当時のお菓子のパッケージに印刷されたものまで展示されており充実の内容でした。 美術館の中は写真撮影が可能だったのもうれしかったです。 グッズも豊富にそろっており、思わずたくさん買ってしまいました。 この八王子夢美術館は中学生以下は無料で見ることができます。 また、年間パスポートは1400円でかなりお得です。 八王子は自然も豊かだけではなくショッピングも楽しむことができるし、色々な文化に触れることができます。 八王子でぜひ日本語を勉強してみませんか？

やっと学生が全員入国したので、入学式を行いました！ スリランカの民族衣装「オサリ」とネパールの民族衣装「サリー」がとても素敵でした。 これから2年間、夢をかなえるために日本語を勉強します。 ぜひ応援よろしくお願いします✨

学校から歩いて1分、郵便局の上にアジア食材のお店がオープンしていました！ 野菜や冷凍食品も売られていて、店内は広くてとても見やすかったです。 お店の人におすすめのお菓子を聞きました。 写真にあるのはベトナムのソフトキャンディです。 このソフトキャンディは若いもち米で作られています。 ほんのり甘くて懐かしい味がします。 留学生は入国したてのときはこのような海外の食材店を利用する人がとても多いです。 八王子は市内にこのようなお店が何件もあるので、外国人にとって住みやすい街だと言えます。

[English／日本語] Across the street from the amanatto (sweet bean) shop introduced previously is a public bathhouse that is famous in Hachioji. At the bathhouse, vegetables are sold unattended. At this sales place, rare vegetables from the Tama area are sold, and there is a wide variety of them, so it is fun just to look around 😊International students often take advantage of these unattended vegetable sales. The principal of our school also has a farm in Hachioji City, and he is often asked by foreigners to sell their produce. When I asked the students about it, they said it looks fresher and tastier than the ones sold in supermarkets. I encourage everyone to try these rare vegetables that can only be found in the Tama area. 以前紹介した甘納豆屋さんの向かいには八王子でも有名な銭湯があります。 その銭湯では野菜の無人販売を行っています。 この販売所では珍しい多摩地区の野菜などが売っていて、種類も豊富で見ているだけでも楽しいです😊留学生はこのような無人販売の野菜を利用することが多いです。 本校の校長も八王子市内で畑をもっていますが、よく外国人から売ってくれと言われるそうです。 学生たちに聞くとスーパーで売っているものよりも、新鮮でおいしそうだと言っていました。 ぜひみなさんも多摩地区でしかとれない珍しい野菜を食べてみてくださいね。

DARIME" is written "forty-five" in Chinese characters. It is said that it is a secret word that sushi chefs understand. Standing-only buckwheat noodles are famous, but sushi is rare. I went there at lunch time, but there were only female customers. Sushi is also popular among foreign students. Not only do they eat it, but there are so many students who choose sushi restaurants as their part-time job. Therefore, they learn the names of fish before any Japanese. You will be surprised that they know more about it than their teachers! 学校から徒歩2分、西八王子の駅前に立ち食いのお寿司屋さんがあります。 名前は「だりめ寿司」です。 「だりめ」は漢字で「四十五」と書くそうです。 お寿司屋さんにはわかる隠語だそうですよ。 立ち食い蕎麦は有名ですが、お寿司は珍しいですよね。 お昼時に行きましたが、女性のお客さんばかりでした。 お寿司は留学生にも人気があります。 食べるのはもちろんですが、アルバイト先に寿司屋を選ぶ学生もとても多いです。 そのため、どんな日本語よりも先に魚の名前を覚えます。 教師よりも詳しいので驚きます！

[English／日本語] Mitsuhashi", a store specializing in natto (sweetened fermented soybeans), is a 15-minute walk from the school. Kanro natto is a Japanese sweet made by boiling down beans in molasses and sprinkling sugar on them. Mitsubashi's natto is very carefully made and has an elegant taste. When I talked about natto to foreign students, they all reacted to the word "natto" and made a disgusted face. There are so many foreigners who do not like natto. But when I explain it properly, they all say they would love to try it. Since there are many bean snacks in Southeast Asia, they are interested in kanro natto. They don't sell kanro natto in midsummer, so if you are interested in kanro natto, please go there before summer. 学校から歩いて15分のところに甘露納豆専門店の「みツ橋」さんがあります。 甘露納豆は豆を糖蜜で煮詰めて砂糖をまぶした和菓子です。 「みツ橋」さんの甘露納豆はとても丁寧に作られていて、上品な味がしました。 留学生に甘露納豆の話をすると、「納豆」という言葉に反応して、みんな嫌そうな顔をします。 外国人で納豆が嫌いな人はとても多いです。 でも、きちんと説明するとみんなぜひ食べてみたいと言います。 東南アジアには豆のお菓子が多いので、甘露納豆が気になるそうです。 甘露納豆は真夏は販売していないそうなので、気になる方は夏になる前に行ってみてくださいね。

[English／日本語] Hachioji had a castle called Katakura Castle 500 years ago. Today, there is no castle, but there is a park that tells the history of the castle. This park is popular among tourists because of its beautiful katakuris (dogtooth violet) flowers in spring. The park is also decorated with statues. The statue in the photo is famous because a kingfisher once perched on its shoulder. Hachioji is not only rich in nature, but also has many historical sites. At school, before visiting such historical places, students have classes to learn about the history of Hachioji. Miharu-takizakura (cherry blossoms with drooping branches), which bloom a little earlier than Someiyoshino, are now in full bloom. [English／日本語] We went to the Hamura Zoological Park for our graduation field trip! The park was large enough that we could see all the animals in an hour, and we were able to take our time and enjoy the park. The giraffes were especially popular, and everyone who came to the park took pictures of them. The students were thrilled to see animals for the first time! We also talked about food culture, such as how this animal is often eaten in their country 卒業遠足で羽村市動物公園に行きました！ 園内は1時間あればすべての動物を見られるくらいの規模で、じっくりと楽しむことができました。 特にキリンが人気で、来園した人達はみんな写真をとっていました。 学生たちは初めて見る動物に感激！ また、国ではこの動物をよく食べるなど食文化の話にもなりました。

[English／日本語] The most famous gourmet food in Hachioji is ramen. It is so well known among ramen lovers that there is even a type of ramen called "Hachioji Ramen. Unlike other ramen, "Hachioji Ramen" uses a large amount of onions in its broth. In Nishi-Hachioji, there is a Hachioji Ramen restaurant called "Goemon" where people stand in line. It is a 3-minute walk from Nishi-Hachioji Station, so it is very close to the school. I tried it for the first time the other day! It was a very tasty ramen with the sweetness of onion, just like "Hachioji Ramen". The international students at the Japanese language school like ramen very much. Some of the male students in particular eat ramen every day, and it is one of the reasons for their weight gain. [English／日本語] The other day I had lunch at Hokkaido Soup Curry Workshop Seven West, a 3-minute walk from Nishi-Hachioji Station. I chose the sweet curry, but it was quite spicy and I could taste a variety of spices. The chicken on the bone, which was cooked so well that it fell apart when touched with chopsticks, was the best part. Most of the students enrolled in our school are from Southeast Asia. Almost all of them have "curry" in their countries. When I show the students how to make Japanese home-style curry, they are surprised at how different it is from their own country. This wagashi is very delicious with lots of sweet bean paste stuck inside. The face of the cat in this "Nekoyaki" is said to be modeled after a beckoning cat (cat figurine) that survived the Hachioji air raid. The beckoning cat is displayed in a store near this "Soto Terrace. There are several places and things related to the war in Hachioji. At our Japanese language school, we sometimes talk about the Hachioji Air Raid in class. [English／日本語] The other day I bought a French pastry called "Galette des Rois" at "Patisserie Tatsuya Sasaki" just a 4 minute walk from Nishi Hachioji! It is famous in France as a cake eaten on January 6. The cake is not only delicious but also enjoyable, as there is a ceramic doll inside the cake and the person who wins it can become a king. What do you do on New Year's in your country? Most of our international students have their New Year's in February or April! They have a very lively time, eating the country's traditional food and having festivals. It was a beautiful day, so we could see Mt. I recommend visiting on weekdays when there are fewer people. 八王子と言えば高尾山が有名です。 高尾山は学校からも見ることができます。 先日学校の遠足で高尾山に登ってきました。 まだ、紅葉が残っており、リフトからの景色がとてもよかったです。 山頂までの道のりも珍しい杉の木を発見したりなど、景色を楽しむことができます。 天気のいい日だったので富士山もよく見えました。 平日は人も少なくおすすめです。

Rice koji is rice malt, which is made by propagating fungi on cooked rice, and is used in a variety of Japanese dishes. It was very cold in Hachioji today, so I ordered a rice koji smoothie (hot). The gentle sweetness made my cold body feel warm and refreshed. In Japan, both adults and children often drink amazake, which is made from rice malt, in winter. When I tell this story to foreign students, they are surprised and say, "Children drink sake, too? They are surprised. Amazake is sake, but some amazake is alcohol-free. [English／日本語] A 15-minute walk from Hachioji Station, I bought a "Hachioji Castle Monaka" at the Japanese sweets shop Senshuen. In fact, there was a castle in Hachioji in the 16th century. This "Hachioji Castle Monaka" is a confectionary shaped like the castle that existed at that time. The monaka is filled with sweet bean paste and is very tasty 😊By the way, Hachioji Castle is no longer there, but the place where the castle used to be is now a park. I would like to visit there with my students someday. 八王子駅から徒歩15分、和菓子屋の千松園さんで「八王子城もなか」を買いました。 実は16世紀に八王子にはお城がありました。 この「八王子城もなか」はその時にあったお城の形をしたお菓子です。 もなかの中にはしっかりとあんこ（豆の甘いペースト）が入っていて、とてもおいしかったです😊ちなみに、八王子城は今はありませんが、昔お城があった場所は公園になっています。 いつか学生と行ってみたいです。

【English／日本語】 I went to the rooster market in Hachioji with some of my students! There is an Otori Shrine about a 5-minute walk from Hachioji Station. I was impressed by the lucky and gorgeous decorations. Moreover, the sight of shopkeepers calling out good luck to customers who buy them was just like Japanese culture, and the students were very excited. On the way home, we bought a specialty of the rooster market, kirisansho (rice cakes covered with a spice called sansho). It was very delicious. There are two more rooster fairs to come. We hope you will visit the rooster market as well. 学生たちと一緒に八王子の酉の市に行きました！ 八王子駅から歩いて5分くらいに大鳥神社があります。 縁起の良い豪華な飾りに感動。 さらに、それを買うお客さんに対してお店の人が縁起の良い掛け声をかける姿は日本文化そのもので、学生たちも興奮していました。 帰りに酉の市の名物の切山椒（山椒というスパイスがまぶしてある餅）を買いました。 とてもおいしかったです。 酉の市はあと2回あります。 みなさんもぜひ訪れてみてください。

[English／日本語] The photo shows "Dorayaki" from "Dorayaki Specialty Shop Makana" which is very popular in Hachioji. Dorayaki is famous among foreign students as Doraemon's favorite food. The dorayaki here was very delicious with its fluffy dough and not-too-sweet red bean paste 😊. 写真は八王子でとても人気がある「どら焼き専門店まかな」の『どら焼き』です。 留学生からどら焼きはドラえもんが大好きな食べものとして有名です。 こちらのどら焼きはふわふわの生地に甘すぎないあんこがとてもおいしかったです😊
